RESEARCH SEARCHES ON THE INTERNET
Through a course at the Wonderful and Magnificent Fresno Pacific University,* I have been studying the Internet. There's so much more than I imagined--and I imagined a lot!
There is the "SURFACE WEB."
We've all been using the tarnation out of that one for years--through normal search engines DuckDuckGo.com, Yahoo.com, Google.com, etc.).
There's the "INVISIBLE WEB."
We've probably all stumbled into this realm from time to time, but sites here are not gathered up by the normal crawling of traditional search engines.
These sites include, among others:
"Password-Accessed" (sites like JSTORS, EBSCO, and Bloom's)
"Form Controlled" (You need to use specific search words in order to
pull them up.)
"Hidden Pages" (Basically, you need to know the exact web site addresses in
order to find these.)
Because the easiest way to find anything on the Invisible Web is by using actual website addresses, I have included appropriate and useful links on this site.
